At first, this was not an easy podcast to write.
Like others who were disappointed with the US Presidential Election results, I was sad and downhearted . . . but not surprised, either. After all, we have historically faced – and with the election results – will continue to live under multi-layered systemic institutional and individual oppression. Struggling to survive is not new to us.
- But as I’ve said before, I know these times are also very, very different AND in a great way! This is the time of the GREAT TURN, the epoch-changing, global transformation of Planet Earth. Two very important factors are now in play: Pluto, the planet of Global Consciousness, entered the constellation Aquarius and will remain there for the next 20 years since November 19th. The last time Pluto was in Aquarius was 1778-1798 — the time of the American, Haitian and French Revolutions!
- So while the elections may make it look like Life is an endless, locked-in circle of pro vs. con, LIFE — through struggle — follows a cycle of Evolution. This means that at some point, there is a leap, a shift, a change, a TURN IN THE ROAD of Earth’s growth that cannot be undone.
All Life on Planet Earth has constantly evolved through struggle . . . not just to survive from day-to-day, but eventually for qualitative improvement. Struggle is the tool that pushes us:
- to reach higher
- to become more
- to be more
And this is exactly where we are now.
Therefore in society, all old systems that no longer advance us, collapse as a new future emerges.
For example, the last time Pluto was in Aquarius, over 200 years ago, we saw the end of the French Monarchy, the end of Haitian Slavery and the end of British Colonial America.
Those life-altering changes entailed bloody, violent wars. How the institutions and structures of today will transform, however, is all up to us.
For now, the most important lesson to understand is that struggle is a friend, not a foe. By welcoming and engaging struggle this way, you can master your integrity with honor.
How? By engaging life, spiritually.
Spirituality acts as a powerful counterforce, inspiring transformative action guided by peaceful and compassionate precepts as, “refrain from harm,” and “do for the good of the whole.”
To me, the energy, excitement and hope that unfolded through the Harris & Walz campaign was a clear sign of the entire SPIRITUAL purpose of the GREAT CHANGE that is afoot. If anything, the elections showed that half of the country already practices these high principles. We all witnessed a massive, diverse self-empowerment movement from across the country united for inclusion, opportunity and change – not for blame, not to hate and not with brute force.
So let’s acknowledge and celebrate the EMPOWERED YOU!
WE are THE GREAT TURN. It is us whom we’ve been waiting for all along. Build your life from the LIGHT WITHIN, move forward and leave the darkness behind.
